Junxion Strategy

Our History

More than ten years ago, Peter ter Weeme and David Kuefler founded The Insight Group. From the start, they agreed to focus on work that aligned with their social and environmental values. Over time, the company grew to serve a wide range of clients.

After six successful years, Peter chose a change of pace as VP of communications and marketing at Mountain Equipment Co-op, while David scaled back the company to spend time with their newly adopted daughter. Nonetheless, Insight continued to produce landmark work, such as a global citizen engagement strategy and marketing tools for the Habitat JAM in 2005, and the strategic realignment of philanthropic giving at BC Hydro and corporate social responsibility strategy and program development at TELUS.

By 2006, Insight was consistently sought after for strategic counsel beyond core marketing and communications programs, leading it to re-evaluate its service mix. That year, David decided to expand the business, and Peter insight-bw.pngreturned to the company with experience in retail strategy, national co-operative management, ethical sourcing and socially-responsible branding. With an increasing global awakening to the need for and potential of sustainability, an important set of requirements emerged: people with excellent communications and marketing backgrounds, experience in social and environmental issues and business strategies, and a passion for constructively balancing the needs of business, community, and the environment. Into this niche, Junxion Strategy was born.
