We are looking for a

Director, Integrated Sustainability

Reporting to Principal, Client Lead, the Director, Integrated Sustainability position will be responsible for ensuring success in managing the intersect and growth of Junxion Strategy’s wider portfolio of environmental and social initiatives across Metro Vancouver, with input on Canada-wide and international initiatives. The position is located in Vancouver.

This is a key role in our company. You will be expected to:

• Work closely with Junxion Strategy Principals in strategic development of integrated sustainability objectives and initiatives within current and future business plans;
• Add international sustainability lens (i.e. available research, best practice and global experts) with a view to enhancing Junxion Strategy’s current approach;
• Support business development and operations groups in strengthening relationships with core clients through use of solid communications focused on wider sustainability solutions;
• Complement current service offerings though introduction of climate and environment specific servicing, where appropriate;
• Project manage significant internal and external programs and projects as directed and, take accountability for associated resource decisions;
• Generate and develop ideas in tandem with identifying and pitching to prospect clients;
• Support internalizing and externalizing CSR through enhancing communications and building processes; and
• Represent Junxion Strategy at various events supporting reputational build through speaking engagements and networking.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and be expected to:

• Add value to and, form part of, a cohesive and highly competent management team displaying leadership on a day-to-day basis;
• Lead, manage and support team members on programs and projects offering both strategic and tactical insight where relevant;
• Ensure open communications with team members regarding program / project status, needs, constraints and opportunities;
• Train and develop team members specifically on international CSR and climate issues / solutions as and when agreed; and
• Actively contribute (meet, evaluate and enhance, as necessary) to team-wide organizational mandate, goals and deadlines.

Background and experience required:

• A university degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required with emphasis on sustainable development within the public and private sectors;
• Minimum 10 years consulting / client management experience, with background in environmental and social sustainability / CSR;
• International experience in sustainability initiatives with focus on resource management;
• Demonstrated experience in multi-audience communication and marketing campaign development, implementation, tracking and testing;
• Proven experience in ideas generation, business development, strategic development and organizational management at the executive management level;
• Demonstrated successful delivery of national / regional programs whilst identifying and mitigating risks, developing and tracking large budgets, preparing change orders, anticipating issues and troubleshooting;
• Solid relationship management, with ability to network, engage, and communicate confidently with executive business leaders, community leaders / partners and media;
• Demonstrated excellence and achievement in project and logistics management, with strong attention to detail and the ability to track multiple projects simultaneously;
• Strong leadership and proven team supervisory skills, including participation in setting targets, job evaluation, personal performance, mentoring and conflict resolution;
• Motivated, flexible and effective team player, with demonstrated initiative, responsive manner, excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
• Robust diplomatic and negotiation skills in liaising with a diverse group of individuals / organizations;
• Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication / presentation skills, including facilitation; and
• High proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher.

Particularly desirable are candidates with demonstrated climate change knowledge and experience and an established international sustainability network.
