Junxion Strategy

In my opinion, sustainability is about the effort individuals make to help balance society’s growing economic needs with those of ecological systems. I am happy to bring my technical skills to Junxion, a company with a goal of achieving harmony in the field of sustainability.

With Master’s degrees in both computer systems and quantum physics, Vardan Hovhannisyan understands the science behind web and interactive solutions. For most people, focusing that deeply on science and technology would be enough, but not so for Vardan. He complements his scientific knowledge with a strong creative side, as a painter and sculptor and he makes sure to maintain a balanced lifestyle by staying active in sports and playing chess.

Vardan has been a web developer for more than 10 years. He has worked internationally and, while in Armenia, he is proud to have led a team on a project creating educational games for children. He was most recently in Washington State, where he facilitated web/database projects for several faculties at the University of Washington. Also while in Washington, he worked as a senior web developer for Eddie Bauer’s e-commerce team, where he acted as a liaison between the technical, marketing and design teams. He comes to Junxion after a role as the lead web database developer at InfoHarvest, a Seattle software firm that offers data analysis and decision support solutions for companies in the environmental, aerospace and engineering sectors.

Vardan’s key motivation in working on web projects is when he’s able to work from a client’s general vision for the end result. He applies his technical knowledge and skills alongside his visual aesthetic, and is able to not just build the back end functional needs today and anticipate future demands, but also bring his artistic eye to the front end, where users experience and interact with the site.

Not only does Vardan “speak” all the technical languages necessary for his work, he is also fluent in Italian, Armenian and Russian.
