Case Study: BC Hydro Power Smart Forum & Awards

Enhancing event experience through strategic marketing, social media and creative consultation

BC Hydro hosts two annual events as part of its Power Smart for Business program: The Power Smart Forum, British Columbia’s foremost energy conservation conference for the Commercial/Institutional, Industrial, Community/Government and Information Technology sectors; and the Power Smart Excellent Awards which recognizes Power Smart business leaders who incorporate sound energy management practices into their operations and set new standards for energy conservation in B.C.

In early 2007, BC Hydro Power Smart engaged Junxion to develop a comprehensive strategy and marketing plan to support its emerging Power Smart for Business program. The objective was to grow the breadth and reach of the Excellence Awards and Forum, while actively positioning each event at the forefront of the energy conservation dialogue in BC.

Since early 2007, Junxion has provided strategic counsel and consultative marketing services to the BC Hydro and the Power Smart Marketing team, including the implementation of the Power Smart Forum and Excellence Awards microsites, new media strategy and activation, a series of ads for the Power of Business Magazine, as well as a variety of print and web promotional materials.

In 2009, Junxion continues to enjoy a strong, and progressive working relationship with BC Hydro Power Smart, working on both the Excellence Awards and Forum projects.
