“The Junxion team proved a great pleasure to work with. Their design creativity and professionalism helped ensure that this year’s Green Space magazine stayed a step ahead in covering sustainability issues in B.C.” - Gail Clark, Publisher, Business in Vancouver Magazines (2007)

Business in Vancouver (BIV) is an award-winning weekly newspaper serving Greater Vancouver. Its BIV Magazines division offers quality business-to-business publications focused on a specific industry or association.

In early 2007, BIV decided to revamp its Green Space magazine, an annual publication focused on sustainable development practices in B.C. Junxion Strategy was hired to guide the project, and its mandate was threefold:

  • To evolve the editorial line-up to include a broader range of business and sustainability-related content
  • To prepare a feature article about the opportunity for sustainability leadership in Vancouver
  • To create a fresh, new design for the publication

Completed in just eight weeks, the new and improved Green Space featured articles under the four main themes of Change: What is Driving It?; B.C. Leaders and Innovation; Green Building and Smart Growth; and Home/Tools. The design set a new standard for BIV publications. Advertising sales for the publication exceeded budget expectations.

Green Space was released in mid-June at BIV’s Green Breakfast, an annual event focused on business and sustainability. The outcome was a huge success. Junxion garnered extensive positive feedback and Green Space was featured in Masthead Magazine, the magazine of magazines. As a result, the 2008 edition of Green Space will have an increased page count and will be expanded into other markets.
